Darlly Maia & Darwin Barboza: "Drum & Brazz Project"
Chocolatsoul Records, 2008

Every music has its moment, each time a place, every place a company. A correct choice of music is a catalyst for good times. Drum & Brazz project stimulates and relaxes the listener happy. Do not be fooled by the name of the project and design for home care. Do not confuse on first listen, there is another album of Brazilian music. Nor is a project with many claims. The union of Darlly Maia, practitioner and broadcaster in Europe of the traditional Brazilian sound art and producer Darwin Barboza, most cultivated in electronic sounds, reflected his personal experiences in an entertaining sound exposure that takes the commitment to versioning Songs Brazilian culture latest grooves. The listener is transported by compositions by Ary Barroso, Caetano Veloso, Antonio Carlos Jobim or more contemporary artists such as Bebel Gilberto, Rita Lee and Jorge Ben Jor with sound structures in some cases closer to the drum & bass and others to lounge without leaving the air of bossa nova that exudes the entire disk. Highlights include the famous Mas Jorge Ben Jor no or Corcovado by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Special mention for the Tempo track where the authors give vent to a little known environmental composition by little by little minute. Another interesting bets to rescue popular culture and transport them to a more current without losing its roots. Myspace / / Pablo Castro
