Drum and Brazz (album)

Isn't it almost a universal taste, these Brazilian classics? I don't know anyone that doesn't like them (given the right context of course). On this album you'll find an updated version of bossa and samba. There is a drum'n'bass influence as the name suggests but it's not too strong.

The band consists of Darwin Barboza, music producer with a long experience, and Darlly Maia, Brazilian singer and guitarist.

I find most of the album very enjoyable, especially songs like Agua de beber and Corcovado are nice. Ok, we all heard too many versions of these songs but I still think these are enjoyable. They are not too far from the originals, pero INSTEAD Slightly updated just in the sound. The drum'n'bass Influence is Not as heavy as on Sambass 3 (the best album ever in this genre). It has the right blend of brazilian softness and a new electronica sound. Makes for a perfect pre-club lounge mix on a friday.

Sound samples available at myspace . Check out Fleur de lis - very nice take. Probably more than anything is the best track, thanks to the harder beat.

Sound Brazilian drum & bass has long been with us, especially by DJs like Marky and XRS, responsible for the boom of the sound for more soulfull side of drum and bass. But what makes this really interesting mix of styles with the lounge, along with Maia's vocals and guitar, giving it a very personal touch and elegant. Personally I prefer the track 10, which more than one sound you on TV ...
A very warm sound to recommend to hear and be near the sea Go ...

Myspace sweet electronic arrangements and who manages to make the 12 tracks that make up the album, a selection environmental incredibly soft, loving, sensual ... We're talking Drum & Brazz Project, a duo Darlly Darwin Barboza and Maia. One is a producer with an ear well-educated half-life leading gotten into the world of music playing every club possible, the other is a Brazilian singer and guitarist who grew up surrounded by Bossa Nova and Samba carioca country. The fact is that together make up an inseparable pair. Proof of this is the charming work that has recently come to the drafting of
dj san roman . And we all know that the lounge and the down-tempo always have sought to sound like jazz and bossa dance partners, but rarely this has proven to be an acceptable mix. Well, here is a good example of having achieved satisfactorily.

From the first track, a great version of "Flor de Lis" by Djavan with a thin base of drum & bass, to the famous "Drinking water" by Antonio Carlos Jobim, on this occasion is topped with an entirely lounge. From "Mais Feliz Bebel Gilberto chill out in a tone reminiscent of the famous tracks of the compilation Jacuzzi Jazz, to the" Mas Que Nada "by Jorge Ben Jor with himself exciting rhythm of the year 63, but with an electronic base that gives a special touch. 12 tracks that leave a very special taste and refreshing feel like taking the recordings by Stan Getz, Chesky, Caetano Veloso ... Project
is ideal. It may not be revolutionary, not going to change your musical concept or save your life (among other things, because you can not ask that to a disc), but it sure gets you out more than a smile and you want to hear more once. You may even become one of your records header, it is of those who pass by in a flash player, almost no one realizes: pure easy listening, finally. The combination of Darwin Barboza production and voice Darlly Maia works extremely well in Drum & Brazz Project, oozing freshness and delicious simplicity that one always hopes that the Brazilian-influenced music, but also has the immediacy own electronics.

Drum & Brazz
Project is a duo consisting of producer

Darwin Barboza and guitarist and vocalist Maia
Darlly
. His music suggests, first, the integration of traditional Brazilian styles, especially samba and bossa nova, in an electronic environment. Many of their songs consist of a reinterpretation, modernized, well-known Brazilian classics. But it is not just to move the originals to the dance floor, but to offer a new perspective, a new sound, sometimes danceable, sometimes downtempo / lounge. On the other hand, is a good example of how the electronics (programming, effects ...) and organic (real instrumentation, with prominence to the guitar) can coexist in the same piece-of-factly. A lively music, casual, sure to please music lovers binary but also those who enjoy the Brazilian sounds. Darwin Barboza
